The controller of the personal data described below is Asia Global Partners Co., Ltd.. Its registered details and the address for privacy correspondence are set out at the end of this page. Where you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR applies to our handling of your data. Where the Thai Personal Data Protection Act applies, it applies alongside it, and we work to whichever standard is higher.
The short version
We do not buy contact lists, we do not scrape, and we do not sell or rent anything about you. Most of what we hold, you typed into a form and asked us to act on. The rest is a small amount of information about how the guides are read, which is described below and which you can switch off.
What you give us directly
When you use the partnership application, the confidential structure review, a visa application, or write to the office, we keep what you send: your name, your contact details, your nationality or where you are based, and whatever you tell us about your situation. We keep it because you asked us to look at something, and we cannot do that without it.
- Partnership applications and structure reviews are read by the office and by nobody else.
- Visa applications are shared with our immigration partner, because they are the ones who file them. That is the whole point of the form, and it is set out on the form itself.
- Where a matter needs a lawyer, an accountant or a valuer, we tell you before anything is passed to them.
Due-diligence screening
Where someone applies to become a partner of the office, or asks us to act on a matter involving property or company structure, we screen the name against published international sanctions and politically exposed person data through a specialist provider. This is ordinary practice for an office handling assets and it protects everybody, including you.
A screening result is an indication that a name resembles a name on a published list. It is never treated as a finding about you, it is always reviewed by a person, and it does not by itself decide anything. You may ask what a screening returned about you and we will tell you.
How the guides are read
When you read a guide, your browser generates a random identifier and stores it on your own device. It records that a browser read a guide of a particular kind, so that if you later write to us, whoever answers can see you had been reading about nominee structures for a fortnight and treat your question accordingly.
- The identifier is random and means nothing outside this site. It is not your name, and we cannot turn it into your name.
- We do not record your IP address for this purpose, we do not fingerprint your device, and no advertising or analytics company is involved.
- It fires once per guide per day, and only after you have been on the page long enough to have read something.
- If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, nothing is recorded at all.
- Clearing your browser storage for this site erases it completely and permanently.
Reading a guide never puts you on a mailing list. An anonymous identifier cannot be written to, and we will not contact you because of it. It only becomes attached to you if you choose to fill in a form.
The homepage strip
The line showing the weather and an exchange rate uses your browser time zone, which every website receives, to guess a nearby city. It does not use your location, and you are not asked for it. The weather and the exchange rate are fetched by our own server, not by your browser, so no third party learns that you visited. Your choice of currency is remembered in a single cookie on your device.
If we write to you
We will only send you something if there is a lawful basis for it recorded against your record: usually because you asked us to be in touch. Our system will not send anything to a person without one, and that is enforced in the software rather than left to judgement.
- Every message carries a one-click unsubscribe that works immediately, needs no login, and asks you no questions.
- Unsubscribing is permanent and is held against your email address, so it survives even if your details are later re-entered by somebody else.
- Sequences are short. If you do not reply, we stop.
- If you reply, automation stops entirely and a person takes over.
Arrangements and bookings
Where a guide offers to arrange a hotel, a transfer, connectivity, a table or an experience, the link passes through our own site so we can see which arrangements are useful, and then sends you to the partner who fulfils it. We record that an arrangement of that type was opened from a particular guide. We do not record who you are, and once you are on the partner's site their own privacy terms apply, not ours. Some partners pay the office a commission; the price to you is never higher for it.
Status pages and drivers
Where the office arranges a car, a delivery or a package, we may send you a private status link. That page shows only what is being arranged, the status, an estimated time, and the vehicle and driver details you need in order to recognise them. It carries no third-party tracking. The link is unguessable and can be withdrawn by the office at any time.
Where a driver chooses to share their position for a journey, they do so from their own device, by their own explicit action, and only while that job is open. It stops when the job closes and the office can end it at any moment.
Who else touches your data
We keep the list of suppliers deliberately short. At the time of writing it is: our hosting and database provider, an email delivery service for messages the office sends, a sanctions-screening provider, an authentication provider used only for staff and partner logins, and the fulfilment partners named to you when relevant. Each processes data on our instructions. We do not sell data to anybody, ever.
Where it is held, and for how long
Our systems are hosted internationally, which means your data may be processed outside the country you are in, including in the European Union and the United States. Where data leaves the EEA or the UK we rely on the standard protections available for such transfers.
- Enquiries we did not take forward: kept for two years, then deleted.
- Records relating to work we actually did: kept for as long as the law requires us to keep them, typically ten years for anything with a tax or regulatory dimension.
- Reading signals: eighteen months.
- Unsubscribe records: kept indefinitely, because that is the only way to guarantee we never write to you again.
What you can ask us to do
You may ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to stop using it for a particular purpose, or object to our using it at all. You may also ask for it in a portable form. We will not charge you and we will not make it difficult.
The one exception is an unsubscribe record, which we keep precisely so that we can honour it. If you ask us to erase everything, that single line stays, and it holds nothing but your address and the fact that you asked not to be contacted.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you may complain to your local supervisory authority. In the United Kingdom that is the Information Commissioner's Office; in Thailand it is the Personal Data Protection Committee. We would rather you told us first, and we will try to put it right.

Changes
If we change how any of this works we will change this page and move the date at the top. We will not make a material change quietly.
